Pastures

Our herd running in the new pasture after moving to Maine from Massachusetts in the early fall prior to us treating the fields.

Nearly a year later, you can see an immense difference in our pasture and the horses can too!

Regenerative Pasture Care with FeedBack

FeedBack supports the health of your pasture from the ground up—restoring soil life, improving forage quality, and helping reduce compaction without synthetic chemicals. Whether you're grazing horses, livestock, or just restoring a wild patch of field, FeedBack helps bring the land back to life.  At Anam Cara Farm, our pastures are not just feeding grounds—they're living ecosystems. We believe pasture care should support the land, the animals who rely on it, and future generations. FeedBack is the foundation of our regenerative approach.

 Spring: Wake Up the Soil

FeedBack jumpstarts microbial life as the soil thaws and warms. A spring application helps:

  • Break down winter thatch and compacted zones.

  • Encourage nutrient cycling and root development.

  • Create a lush, resilient forage base early in the season.

Apply FeedBack as soon as the soil reaches 50°F. Ideal before or just after your first cut or graze.

 Summer: Build Resilience

Heat and grazing pressure can strain your pastures. FeedBack offers a natural defense:

  • Rebuilds plant tissue and root systems after grazing.

  • Improves drought tolerance by boosting soil structure and water retention.

  • Supports beneficial fungi and bacteria that protect against disease and stress.

Apply every 4–6 weeks, or more frequently in heavily grazed or high-traffic areas.

 Fall: Invest in the Future

Fall is the most overlooked—but powerful—time to restore your pastures.

  • FeedBack revitalizes soil biology before dormancy sets in.

  • Builds root energy for strong spring emergence.

  • Helps integrate fall cover crops or late-season overseeding.

Apply after your final mow or grazing cycle for a head start on next season.

Why It Matters for Horse Pastures

Horses have a unique relationship with the land. FeedBack helps you care for both:

  • Reduces hoof compaction by improving crumb structure and soil aeration.

  • Increases forage nutrition without synthetic inputs or chemical residues.

  • Safe for all grazing animals—no withholding time required.

Healthier soil means better grass, fewer weeds, and happier horses.

How to Use FeedBack on Pastures

  • Dilution Rate: 1–2 oz per gallon of water

  • Application: Hose-end sprayer, backpack sprayer, or irrigation-compatible systems

  • Frequency: Every 4–6 weeks, or as needed based on pressure and soil health

A Living Example

Everything we’re sharing here comes from our lived experience. FeedBack is the only product we’ve ever used to restore our pastures, and it has completely transformed the land for the horses in our care and their health.
